Dale Goldhawk
Dale Goldhawk is a journalist, author and broadcaster with more than 44 years experience in Canadian newspapers, radio, television, including the Toronto Telegram, CBC Television, CBC Radio, Global Television and the CTV Television Network.
Dale hosts Goldhawk LIVE, a national television current affairs show from Ottawa on CPAC, Canada’s Political Channel. He also hosts a daily, Ontario-based Goldhawk LIVE on Rogers Television. And he is the host of Goldhawk Fights Back For You, a daily citizen advocacy show on AM 740, Zoomer radio, focussing on the needs and issues of mature Canadians.
Dale is the author of “Getting What You Deserve” published by Dundurn.
Dale was nominated by the Canadian Association of Journalists as one of Canada’s outstanding investigative journalists in 2001. He was a Gemini Award nominee for Best Reporter in 1996, a national Radio Award nominee for Best Broadcaster in 1992, in 2002 won an Impressions Award for Best on-air-personality in the Rogers Television Network and in 2005 won a Best on camera Performance award from the Canadian Cable Television Association.
As a Past President of ACTRA (the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists) he has been awarded the ACTRA Presidents Award for distinguished service to ACTRA and its members, as well as the Ryerson Union Award, in recognition of “his accomplished journalism career and his achievements, leadership and integrity as President of ACTRA.” In 2004, Dale was given a National Leadership Award by the Ontario History and Social Sciences Teachers’ Association.
Goldhawk is a former President of the Alzheimer Society of Canada and serves on the Board of Alzheimer’s Disease International.
Dale has also done extensive volunteer work for Easter Seals Ontario. He is the recipient of the charity’s highest honour, the Yvonne Alexander Award, “recognizing exemplary support in helping children with physical disabilities succeed.”
